The Temple University Beasley School of Law Program in Tokyo has named Tina H. Saunders as its new Director, effective January 2016. Ms. Saunders will also become Associate Professor of Instruction in Law.

Professor Saunders brings to her new role a range of experience working in the U.S. and Japan. She joined the TUJ faculty in 2013, teaching civil procedure and torts, lecturing to local bar associations, and working closely with the Program’s administrators.

Professor Saunders received her law degree from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration from Howard University.  Following law school, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Lynne A. Battaglia at the Maryland Court of Appeals.  She then entered private practice, working at Venable LLP in Baltimore, Maryland, where she focused on commercial and product liability litigation.

Professor Saunders succeeds Professor Finbarr McCarthy, who will return to full-time teaching at the Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia.
