Temple Law & Public Policy Scholar Christina Gilfillan ’14 has been named a Rising Star by Golden Rule International (GRI), an affiliate of the United Nations and other international organizations that seeks to recognize individuals and organizations whose work exemplifies the “Golden Rule” of compassion and treating others as you wish to be treated yourself.

Rising Star awards are given to young adults who have worked to promote social justice and compassionate change in their respective fields.  Christina is being honored for her work promoting positive change in human trafficking laws and education.  GRI is not the first organization to recognize the significance of Christina’s contributions; in the wake of her presentation at the Law and Society Association’s annual conference in Boston last summer, Christina was invited to present her work at the European Society of Criminology’s annual conference (Eurocrim) in Budapest, Hungary in September 2013.

Christina will receive her award on April 4th at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library.
