Students are permitted to type their exams, unless otherwise notified, on their own personal PC or Mac computers. Please note that you must use your own computer for your exams. The Law School's loaner PCs will not be available for exams.
In order to take any in-class exam, whether scheduled or during a Free Slot, on your laptop computer, you must download and register SofTest. SofTest is an exam security program used by the Law School. SofTest allows you to type your exam answers while restricting your ability to access other programs and/or files on your computer, such as email, word documents and the internet. SofTest also enables you to upload your exam answer to a secure web server through a wireless internet connection. Please follow the applicable links below for instructions on preparing your computer for use during exams and general information regarding Free Slot and Deferred Exams.
If you experience difficulty downloading and registering SofTest, please contact Stephen App at email@example.com
Once you have downloaded and registered SofTest, you will be required to download the Exam Files for each course you are taking that has an in-class exam. The Exam File is an answer template, which provides you with 50 blank answer spaces to type essay answers. The Exam File will also include your Exam Number, automatically filled into the appropriate spot. You MUST download any Exam File for an exam you plan to type on your computer no later than the day before you take that exam. Instructions for downloading Exam Files are below:

During Free Slots, students are bound by the Law School's Code of Student Conduct, as with any other exam.
