  • Richard S. Jacobson Award for Excellence in Teaching Trial Advocacy, presented in recognition of demonstrated skills in teaching the art and skills of trial advocacy by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, 2003. 
  • Robert Oliphant Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by National Institute for Trial Advocacy, 2002.
  • NITA Board of Trustees Distinguished Service Award, presented in recognition of leadership of NITA from 1994-2000 as Director, 1999.
  • NITA Program Directors Distinguished Service Award, first recipient of this award from the Program Directors of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy for Outstanding Leadership, 1998
  • International Summit Award, for Winning at Deposition, and interactive CD Rom. Chosen for one of three awards from over one thousand nominees in the Multimedia Category. This CD teaches the basics of taking and defending depositions, 1998
  • American Law Institute, elected to membership, 1996.
  • International Society of Barristers, elected as academic fellow, 1995.
  • American Bar Foundation, elected as a fellow in recognition of professional attainment and distinguished service, 1995.
  • Garnbrell Award for Professionalism Training, designed program, wrote materials, and taught Temple Law School Integrated Program in Evidence, Advocacy and Professional Responsibility which received the award from the ABA, 1993.
  • Gumpert Award for Excellence in Teaching Trial Advocacy, designed program, wrote materials and taught Temple Law School Trial Advocacy Program which received the award from the American College of Trial Lawyers, 1989 and 2002.
  • George P. Williams, III Memorial Award for the Outstanding Professor of the Year, Temple University School of Law, 1984.
  • Mordecai Society Award for Excellence in Teaching, Duke University Law School, awarded in recognition of the design and implementation of clinical education and trial advocacy program of the Duke Law School, 1978.
