The Law School Registrar’s Office maintains law student and alumni records and provides academic documentation needs, including processing loan deferments, registration verification, and degree and state bar form certifications. Request and information release forms are available outside of Suite 103, Barrack Hall and can be deposited in the locked box across from the door of Suite 103 at any time. Forms can also be provided electronically, if needed.

Requesting a Transcript

Unofficial Transcripts

When employers ask for a transcript to accompany a job or internship application, those transcripts do NOT need to be “official.” If an employer wants an official transcript, they will typically state that the transcript needs to come directly to them in an envelope with the University seal.

To request your unofficial transcript from the University, go to the Student Tools section of TUPortal. Under “Records,” click on “Transcript Request.” From the list of transcript options, select “Beasley School of Law E-Transcript.” When asked for type of transcript, select Law for J.D. students, or Law Graduate for LL.M. students. Enter your name and email address, so that the unofficial transcript will be delivered directly to you. Follow the remaining steps to confirm your order.

You will receive an email confirming your order, an email with a confirmation code, and an email with a PDF of your unofficial transcript attached. To access the PDF, you will need to enter the confirmation code. Once you have the PDF, it is a good practice not only to save it on your computer, but also to upload it to the Documents section of your CPM (Career Planning Manager) account, so that it is easily accessible when you are applying for jobs and internships.

Official Transcripts

Current students may request official transcripts when needed by logging into TUPortal and selecting the “Transcripts” link under the Records channel of the Student Tools tab. You will be prompted to create an account the first time you access the Parchment site. See below for delivery options and fees.

Delivery Options and Fees for Official Transcripts

If you select the pick-up option, you will pick up your official transcript from the Law School Registrar’s Office in Barrack 103, not from the University Registrar’s Office. If you have forms or other documentation that must be completed by the Law School, we recommend that you select “pick up” as your transcript delivery option and drop the form(s) off at the Law School Registrar’s Office. Your transcript will be delivered to the Law School Registrar’s Office for you to pick up along with the completed form(s).

Temple Law alumni, students and former students are not charged for transcripts. You may still order up to five (5) transcripts per request, at no cost. If you will require other than the standard mailing procedure, you should be prepared to cover that cost. Rush-ordered transcripts will be delivered to the Law School for pick up or special mailing.

Official Transcripts

Temple University has authorized Parchment to provide services for ordering official transcripts. Parchment offers convenient online ordering services 24 hour a day, 7 days a week, as well as order tracking and notification. Please be aware that Parchment handles only the ordering process; they do not have access to your academic history and do not print your transcript.

Alumni and former students may request their transcripts by logging in to the Parchment website. You will be prompted to create an account the first time you access the Parchment site.
