Sophie E. Smyth
Associate Professor of Law


Professor Sophie Smyth joined the Temple Law School faculty in Fall 2007. Before coming to Temple, Professor Smyth was an international finance lawyer in the legal department of the World Bank, where she worked for 17 years. She also taught law for two years as a Visiting Professor at American University, Washington College of Law, while on sabbatical from the World Bank. Professor Smyth's scholarship explores the legal and policy challenges posed by the increasing globalization of philanthropy and the links between such philanthropy and more traditional sources of international development aid. more...
