All incoming students are currently registered in a placeholder course which is based on whether you are a full or part-time student. Students will be registered for their actual fall semester classes after the first year section assignments have been made. This process will happen automatically, and there is nothing you need to do to make sure you are registered.

Day Division Course Information

All first-year Day division students will be randomly assigned to one of three first-year general sections: Section 1, 2 or 3. In the fall semester, you will take Contracts, Criminal Law and Torts with the other students in your general section.  Part-time day students do not take Criminal Law in the first semester. Each Day division section will be further divided into two Legal Research and Writing sections.  All Day division students will also be assigned to one of four sections for a course called Litigation Basics: Section 21, 22, 23, or 24.

Your section assignment will be emailed to you on Monday, August 14th.  The email will provide you with your general section assignment, your Legal Reserach & Writing section assignment and your Litigation Basics section assignment.

Once you receive your section assignment, you will be able to access the online course schedule for your schedule of classes for the fall semester, the names of your professors and the books which are required for your courses.

During Orientation week (August 21-25), you will begin both Litigation Basics and your Legal Research and Writing course.  You will receive a schedule of classes for that week at Orientation on August 21st.  Your other fall semester classes, Contracts, Criminal Law and Torts, will begin on Monday, August 28th.

Evening Division Course Information

All evening division students will be assigned to general section 51 and will take Litigation Basics, Contracts and Torts with the other students in the evening class.

There are two sections of Legal Research and Writing (LRW) and you will be assigned to either LRW section 51 or LRW section 52.

Your section assignment will be emailed to you on Monday, August 14th.  The email will provide you with your general section assignment and your Legal Reserach & Writing section assignment.
