1L Orientation: Fall Course Information

All incoming students have been registered in a placeholder course based on whether they are a full-time or part-time student. You will be registered for your actual fall semester classes after the first year section assignments have been made in early August. This process will happen automatically, and there is nothing you need to do to make sure you are registered.

Day Division Course Information

All first-year Day division students will be randomly assigned to one of three first-year general sections: Section 1, 2 or 3. In the fall semester, you will take Civil Procedure, Torts and Contracts with the other students in your general section.  Each Day division section will be further divided into one of two Legal Research and Writing sections and one of two small sections for Contracts.

Your section assignment will be emailed to you on Monday, August 3rd.

Once you receive your section assignment, you will be able to access the online course schedule for your schedule of classes for the fall semester, the names of your professors, and the books which are required for your courses.

During Orientation week (August 17-20), you will be participating in a series of lectures designed to introduce you to the study of law and prepare you for the start of your fall semester classes on August 24th.

Evening Division Course Information

All evening division students will be assigned to general section 51 and will take Civil Procedure and Contracts with the other students in the evening class.

There are two sections of Legal Research and Writing (LRW) and you will be assigned to either LRW section 51 or LRW section 52.

Your section assignment will be emailed to you on Monday, August 3rd.  The email will provide you with your general section assignment and your Legal Research & Writing section assignment.
