Dana Trier presented the 2019 Fogel Lecture, titled Entity Taxation in the 2017 Legislation: Process and Policy, on March 21st, 2019. As Deputy Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy in the U.S. Treasury, Mr. Trier participated in the production of that legislation. He focused his remarks on the so-called “pass-through deduction” that has dramatically changed the taxation of some personal service income.
